Read about Bill Seitz's account of the German attack on Allied merchant ships in the Bari harbor in 1943. Over 1,000 persons died, many were American seamen. There was one problem, one of the vessels was carrying mustard gas. Bill's story can be found in the Topeka Capital Journal by hitting the hyperlink for The Forgotten Campaign.
