Cloak & Dagger
Cloak & Dagger is a course based upon the history of espionage, the second oldest profession and one of the least understood. It has been said that intelligence can either win or lose a war before the first shot is fired. The class will examine the role of spies in the nineteenth and twentieth century, particularly code breakers and code breaking in the period during World War II and the early Cold War. The class will also review the double-cross system employed by MI-5 as well as Soviet espionage in the United States in the 1930s and 1940s. This page will support the online version of this class. Use the hyperlinks for texts, an espionage bibliography, course requirements, and a glossary for the course.
