Grades

Requirements for the Dictators and Demagogues

Undergraduates

        Grades for the course are based on the following criteria -- attendance, participation, post test, outside essay, and a book review. All components are worth valued at 100 points and a grades will be assigned on the a standard distribution of 90 percent, 80 percent, 70 percent, and 60 percent. The book review can come from any book found in the reading list found on this site. For those who seek information on how to write a book review, use the hyperlink provided.

Graduate Students

        Graduate students will do all of the above accept a) if they are seeking a MA (thesis or non-thesis option) they will write a comparative book review over two books. If they are seeking an MAT, they will develop a narrative unit plan over how to teach the decade of the 1930s in either world or American history. The unit plan should also include a short narrative essay explaining what they are seeking to achieve in their class.
